I often thought of one million and one interesting ways to make my boys happy. I think of taking wild and adventurous vacation with them. I think about buying the most sophisticated toys for them. I think of having this and that, going here and there, doing so much stuff and the list just goes on and on. My target is simple; my boys to have the greatest time on earth that they so much deserve.
But these past couple of weeks taught me something else. Gavin actually enjoys being at home. He loves the new Monopoly game I bought him for Christmas. He could go wild over the little magic games I got him. He could go on and on sitting in front of his laptop watching Spyro’s movies on YouTube. He thinks it’s the best present of all to have me help him with his Science projects.
I am learning something new from Gavin. That it doesn’t take something extravagant to make my boys happy. It’s simply just being with them. Spending time with them. It’s as simple as that.
