McDonald’s (part II)

29 04 2012

And today finally I get to know her name.

As usual I went to McDonald’s to get breakfast for the kids (this time I bought something to go). And then I started the conversation. I asked her name. She gave me hers, and I gave her mine.

Her name is Eka. Eka, my favorite waitress at McDonald’s Pondok Indah.

Like Ma Like Son

19 02 2012

Seriously I never thought there’d come the day that I would see my son insisting on going to hang out at Starbucks. While his brother would rather play at Funworld, shop for toys, my oldest son did not show any interests in any of that stuff.

So off we went to Starbucks. I ordered my usual hazelnut latte, and he ordered his usual hot choco. He then picked the sofa seat, took out my iPad. Asked the barista for the password to the wifi, and he settled there while surfing the net.

And all the while I just watched him, skillfully connecting to the internet. He even knew how to punch in the username and password. I couldn’t help but smile appreciatively. My son, he is so like me. He’s been watching me all this time.

Like ma like son.

Holiday Habit

10 02 2012

Ih… nggak tahu nih kenapa tiba-tiba kok saya, suami dan anak-anak jadi doyan ber-weekend di luar kota ya. Dalam 2 bulan ini sudah 4 kali kami weekend-an di hotel. Anak-anak sih doyan-doyan aja. Pokoknya kriteria hotel pilihan anak-anak adalah berkolam renang besar. Jadi biasanya kalau mau pilih hotel saya pasti browsing dulu di internet untuk lihat bentuk kolam renangnya. That’s the most important thing. Ha… ha… ha…

Sushi Tei

20 11 2011

Another all-time favorite. Mine and Gavin’s. This is the place where we usually have our quality time – just us two – because Athan does not share the passion for sushi.

One little tip for Sushi Tei lovers, come at 10 o’clock like Gavin and I usually do, since the plave always get crowded by 11 o’clock, and right around 12 you won’t be able to get in without getting in line first. And this pretty much how it is at every Sushi Tei outlets.

Today, the Sushi Tei of our choice is the one at Plaza Senayan. Ikura gunkan and Tobikko gunkan for Gavin, and the usual Salmom sashimi pour moi.

One small input if I may for Sushi Tei – I think it’s time you start providing free wifi connection as it’s one of the things consumers look for other than food and service. After all, it would be nice to be able to connect to the world and tell them that we are having a hell of an experience at Sushi Tei. Wouldn’t it?

My Experience with Starbucks Coffee

30 10 2011

Customer Voice…. again! I love this place already as it is, but with getting this free drinks quite frequently, is definitely putting Starbucks at the top of my fave hang out place.

My favorite Starbucks outlet is the one at PIM 1. It’s cozy, Biznet internet connection is great, baristas are so friendly. Even my sons love this place. They use this place as a meeting place with their friends. And to think that they are only 9 and 5 years old!
